Polyphony Digital's legendary Gran Turismo series returns to PS2, and gives you the chance to race cars that are so new they're not even in production yet. GT Concept includes over 120 state of the art vehicles, many of which were unveiled at this year's Tokyo and Geneva motor shows. Vehicle categories include New Cars, Dream Cars, Concept Cars and Race Cars. As with previous titles in the series, Gran Turismo Concept Tokyo-Geneva 2002 boasts incredible graphics, massively detailed vehicle models and ultra-realistic car physics, but the gameplay is far more accessible thanks to arcade style handling and a smaller selection of tracks more suited to the casual driver. While it doesn't boast the depth of GT3, it does put an interesting new spin on the series, and should help keep dedicated petrol heads amused until GT4, the next full game in the series, surfaces.
GT Concept features five tracks; one new circuit, Tokyo R246 and four re-worked tracks from previous games in the series, including the Tahiti Maze rally circuit from GT3 and old favourite Autumn Ring from GT and GT2. Each is raced forwards as well as backwards, effectively giving you ten tracks in total. There are three main game modes: Course License (a race against the clock with an optional pace car), Free Run (a leisurely spin round the track with no restrictions or time limits) and Single Race (take on a friend or race solo on the track of your choosing). You progress by chalking up medals in the Course Licence and Single Race modes, which in turn unlocks brand new vehicles that are added to your garage. These range from souped-up old favourites like the Mini-Cooper through high end race models to extraordinary looking concept cars that represent the more adventurous side of car design.
Features:
- Over 120 state-of-the-art vehicles, including Race Cars, Dream Cars and Concept Cars
- Incredible graphics, amazingly detailed car models and stunning realtime lighting effects
- New arcade style handling makes cars more responsive and fun to drive
